Accessibility
NERODI exists to help families get organized, and that includes families where someone uses a screen reader, navigates by keyboard alone, or needs larger text. We want this site to work for everyone.
The standard we follow
We measure against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard commonly used to assess compliance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for business websites in the United States.
What we have done
- Every image that carries information has alt text describing what it shows, in the language of the page.
- The whole site can be operated by keyboard, and the focused element is always visible.
- Headings follow a logical order (one H1 per page) so a screen reader can navigate by section.
- Text and button-border contrast was checked against WCAG minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Animation switches itself off when your system has “reduce motion” enabled.
- The site adapts to small screens and to zoom without introducing horizontal scrolling.
- Each page declares its language so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
What we have tested, and what we have not
On July 22, 2026 we evaluated every page on the site — both home pages, the registration form, and these legal pages — with axe-core, an automated tool that checks WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA criteria, at both desktop and phone sizes. No issues detected by that tool remain. We also confirmed that no page scrolls horizontally at 320 pixels wide or at 200% zoom, and that every element you can tap is at least 24 by 24 pixels.
We are candid about the limits of that: automated tools catch roughly a third of WCAG criteria. We have not yet done a full manual audit, and we have not tested with real screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) or with disabled users. Until we do, we are not claiming the site fully meets Level AA. It is our target, not a declaration of conformance.
Limitations we know about
- The registration form is an animated step-by-step questionnaire. We have not yet verified it with a real screen reader, and it is the part of the site most likely to have problems an automated tool cannot see.
- The family photographs on this site were generated with artificial intelligence. They are described in alt text, but we want to say so plainly.
